History

HRU Faculty of Education (Department of Fine Arts Education, Department of Painting Education) offers a four-year undergraduate education under the name of "Bachelor of Arts and Crafts Education Programme". Our program was established in 1996 and consists of "General Culture", "Field Knowledge" and "Teaching Profession Knowledge" courses. Field courses include the science and art curriculum required for Art Teaching.

The aim of the Undergraduate Program is to train qualified Painting Teachers (Visual Arts Teachers) that our country needs, with student-centered and computer-aided education and training studies based on the theory of multiple intelligences and active education method, in line with the general objectives of our university and Turkish National Education.

In addition, they can be employed as a graphic designer, web designer, illustrator, animator and art consultant required by the private sector, as well as study centers, etc., which are common today. They will also be able to work in educational environments, and they can also work as freelance artists if they wish.

Our vision

Knowing the role of art in raising creative individuals, with an understanding that makes creative and original thinking superior, the Faculty of Education, Fine Arts Education Department, as the Painting Teaching Department, has aimed to train art educators as well as artist teachers since its establishment. For this purpose, our goal is to strengthen the physical infrastructure where all kinds of artistic production can be made and to strengthen our academic staff and become a department that is suitable for the goals of both the region and our University.

Our Mission

As Harran University Education Faculty Fine Arts Education Department, Painting Teaching Department, our mission is to continue our efforts to train teachers who understand the necessity of art education, believe in the importance of art in the personal development of the individual, and know the place of art education in the civilization of societies, in addition to training art teachers for primary and secondary education institutions. . In addition, our aim is to enable students to be art literate who can think critically and in search of originality, to work in different fields with contemporary methods of expressing artistic and aesthetic values, or to gain opportunities to produce with art disciplines.
