With the law dated 09.07.1992 and numbered 3837, Harran University and the Faculty of Engineering were established. Civil Engineering Department, which has been affiliated to Dicle University since 1984, was incorporated into Harran University Engineering Faculty in 1992. As Harran University Engineering Faculty, Mechanical, Civil and Environmental Engineering departments accepted their first students in 1993. Then, Computer Engineering Department (2005), Electrical-Electronics Engineering (2012), Map (2017) and Industrial (2018) engineering departments were opened and students were admitted, respectively. The Department of Food Engineering was affiliated to the Faculty of Engineering from the Faculty of Agriculture in 2016. In 2020, Software Engineering was established and the number of departments increased to 9.
