Social Activities of the Department of Geomatics Engineering


Orientation program for the students placed in the department was held on 17.10.2022. All of the faculty members of the department participated in the orientation program and the students were informed about the necessary issues.


A trip to the Harran Archaeological Excavation Site was organized within the scope of the Geodesign 1 Postgraduate course conducted by Fred Barış ERNST, a faculty member of our department. Professor Doctor Mehmet Ali ÇULLU from Harran University Faculty of Agriculture and Deputy Mayor of Harran also participated in the tour, and the Director of Excavation Professor Doctor Mehmet ÖNAL was guided. Historical Ulucami Ruins and Harran Castle were visited and students were given on-site lessons on archaeological planning within the scope of Geodesign 1 course.


Academicians and students of our department visited Şanlıurfa Regional Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre and exchanged professional and technical information.


Under the leadership of the Geomatics Club, a technical trip to the Atatürk dam was organized with the students and academicians of the Department of Geomatics Engineering and information about the dam was obtained from the experts in the field.


The Chamber of Geomatics and Cadastre Engineers (HKMO) came together with the students of our department at the breakfast meeting.


Geomatics Engineering Department students met at the Traditional Urfa Night event with the support of the Geomatics Club and HKMO.


Representatives of Chamber of Geomatics and Cadastre Engineers (HKMO) visited our department.


The orientation program for our students who have been placed in the department was held on 27-28/09/2017. All of the faculty members of the department participated in the orientation program and the students were informed about the necessary issues.
