ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

 Ensuring the best use of natural resources such as air, water and soil; To train highly qualified Environmental Engineers who can meet the personnel needs of the industry and public sector by working on the control and elimination of the factors causing their pollution at their sources and ensuring sustainable development by preventing environmental pollution. Vision of our Department • With the knowledge and skills of its graduates, it is respected all over the world in the field of science and industry, successful engineers are trained in business life, preferred by the most talented students at national and international level, • Environmental engineers sought after in the public and private sectors are trained, original and pioneering researches are carried out with the support of qualified and technical personnel to whom it is first applied, , • Having environmental engineering laboratories equipped with modern technology necessary for quality education and research, • Competing with other universities and research institutions in Turkey in their own fields of study, • Universal nit education and research with the principle of continuous improvement it applies. To be an Environmental Engineering Department In addition, the "Educational Objectives" of our department - Using the natural resources in the world correctly, trying to give back the resources of the ecosystem, conscious and equipped with the necessary equipment to create environmental conditions compatible with human health and ecosystem, - Experienced in laboratory studies, able to design experiments, various types of environmental pollution in determining the extent of environmental pollution able to use devices and process and interpret the results obtained, - Equipped, harmonious, competitive and self-confident in teamwork with the interdisciplinary courses and design lessons he took from different disciplines during his undergraduate education, - Equipped in terms of theory and practice in the areas needed by the private sector and public institutions , have the qualifications to produce solutions to environmental problems, - Have knowledge of the Environmental Legislation (Ç.E.D), have knowledge of occupational health and safety, and have an ethical understanding, - Work in the design, construction and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants and sewage systems - Equipped for the disposal of solid wastes in a way that will cause the least harm to the environment, who can take part in the recycling and project design stages of wastes, - Can perform measurements and inspections related to air pollution, - Have the necessary equipment to enter postgraduate education programs in our country and in the world to train engineers.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

* With the implementation of the Southeastern Anatolia Project, significant environmental changes and adverse events are expected in the region. The region and its resources constitute an important study-research subject in this respect.
* Therefore, the Environmental Engineering Department, which started its activities in 1993, the year Harran University was founded, has undertaken a great responsibility for the solution of environmental problems.
* The first students were admitted to the department in the 1993-1994 academic year.
* The language of instruction of the program is Turkish.
* Students are entitled to receive a bachelor's degree after four years of education.
* In our department located in Osmanbey Campus, there are still 3 Professors, 4 Associate Professors, 1 Dr. Instructor Member and 3 Research Assistants.
