Biomass Technologies Laboratory, located at GAP Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Center, is a laboratory that works with the aim of creating products that are beneficial to the environment and humanity by using microorganisms. 2 researchers and 4 graduate students are actively working in the laboratory and studies are carried out in various bioreactors.

The laboratory is established on an area of 300 m2 and includes two offices, work areas and a temperature-controlled room for the operation of bioreactors. The laboratory has the infrastructure to obtain energy from biomass and carry out production and purification activities in biological processes.

The laboratory generally aims to produce energy from biomass. Biomass is the general name for all non-fossilized biological material obtained from living or recently living creatures. Biomass is a source of energy, and in industrial terms, biomass is related to obtaining fuel from these biological substances or using them for other industrial purposes. In this context, the studies planned to be carried out in the biomass laboratory aim to obtain energy from biomass that is abundant in our country and the GAP Region, has low unit costs and, most importantly, has high bioenergy potential.

All kinds of consultancy services are provided for biological treatment and biological reactors in the laboratory. In addition, treatability studies are carried out for wastewater that requires biological treatment. Additionally, the list of analyzes offered in the laboratory is given below.
