With the financing provided by Karacadağ Development Agency and Harran University, the Solar Energy Technologies Testing and Certification Laboratory was established within the GAP Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Center, and was recently inspected by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) and accredited on 17.11.2017. Solar Energy Technologies Laboratory can perform all kinds of Mechanical, Thermal and all performance tests of Thermal Solar collectors in accordance with TS EN ISO 9806 Standard. It also has a laboratory Quality Management System that meets the TS EN ISO 17025 "General conditions for the competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories" standard.

In this context, it is the first laboratory accredited by TURKAK in our region and within Harran University.
Today, when the importance of domestic production came to the fore and was supported by various incentives, many companies producing domestic thermal collectors were established, and now Turkey can produce all the thermal collectors it needs. Manufacturers must have their products tested by an authorized organization in order to put these collectors on sale and offer certain warranty conditions to the end user.

It is very important to carry out production activities in accordance with the relevant standards and provide services in accordance with quality assurance systems in order to develop the solar thermal energy sector steadily in our country, to prevent unfair competition conditions in this market and to provide quality products to end users. In this context, our domestic producers, who have received service from abroad until today, will now be able to Certify their products by receiving service from the Solar Energy Technologies Testing and Certification Laboratory established at Harran University GAP YENEV Center.
