Under the control of supervisor, students are responsible for researches published around the world related with the topic that is assigned by supervisor. In the meantime, studies related with seminar are expected to enlighten students on their thesis. By all these, students are supposed to follow innovation in technology and apply those on problems in region and country.
CE-503 Scientific Research Methods (3-0)3
Students are supposed to investigate the institution which are making scientific research, and prepare request document for suggestion. Also, they are expected to work on current studies related with their interest and perform literature researches.
CE-505 Advance Structural Analysis (3-0)3
General view of classical methods in structural analysis such as, stiffness, slope deflection etc. methods.
CE-509 Hydromechanics I (3-0)3
Students are expected to get used with similarity in hydrodynamics, theory of hydraulic models, hydromechanics measurements, friction forces from open channel and pipeline flows, and introduction to transportation of material in stream.
CE-511 Water Resources Systems (3-0)3
The scope of this course covers the system approach in water resources engineering, system analysis, modelling of these systems, optimization techniques on operation of water resources systems and their planning process, simulation techniques, longterm-shorterm planning and real-time operations.
CE-513 Recent Development in Civil Engineering World (1-2)2
The scope of this course includes in following last developments in Civil Engineering Environment.
CE-515 Highrise Building with Reinforced Concrete (3-0)3
This course offers students to learn composite conveyor systems with curtain walls, interaction of wall and connection beams, and solution techniques. On the other hand, torsion forces and ductility criteria of high-rise buildings are investigated under the scope of that course.
CE-517 Optimization of Structures (3-0)3
General view of design methods like elasto-plastic design, design with plastic approach, mathematical optimization, design of construction by using force method, design of construction by using slope deflection method, and application of optimization methods on various type of construction.
CE-519 Open Channel Hydraulic (3-0)3
Open channel flow, open channel flow types, flow continuity, energy, momentum equations, minimum energy principle, flow regimes, hydraulic jump, flow profiling and calculation methods, cross-section variations and control structures, non-permanent flows.
CE-521 Overflow Hydraulic (3-0)3

Traffic analysis and forecasting, traffic formation and traffic analysis, traffic distribution, mode selection, economic analysis of transportation projects, cost-benefit analysis, terminals, transportation costs, decision making in transport projects, long-term transportation planning.
CE-525 Light Rail Systems (3-0)3
Route planning, longitudinal slope and road standards, calculation methods, colloids and calculation methods, stall and storage standards, preparation of project files and controls, route applications and problems.
 
 
 
 
CE-527 Uncertainty and Data Analysis (3-0)3
Importance of statistics in engineering. Principles of probability theory. Random variable and random event. The concept of probability. Distributions of random variables. Parameters of distributions, statistical moments, mean, variance, frequency analysis. Estimation of parameters. Important probability distribution functions. Sampling distributions. Control of statistical hypotheses. Simple linear regression analysis. Correlation coefficient. Multivariate nonlinear regression analysis.
CE-529 Hydrologic Analysis and Design (3-0)3
System approach in hydrology. Modeling of hydrological systems, basic equations of hydrological systems. Linear system models, flow-precipitation models. Unit hydrograph, unit hydrograph and computer applications. Displacement of floods by hydrological methods, application of statistical methods in hydrology. Hydrological processes. Modeling of current series. Flood frequency analysis, regional flood analysis, hydrological risk analysis. Determination of project rainfall and project flow. Introduction to reservoir hydrology

Under the Advisor control, various subjects are given to each student in Turkey and they are responsible for examination of the studies in the world. The evaluation and discussion of this information as a basis for the thesis work to be done. To follow the developments in science and technology, to adapt the developments to current and regional problems, and to develop ideas for solving problems.

CE-508 Earthquake Sizing of Structures (3-0)3
The effect of earthquake motion on ground motion, Ground-structure interaction, The importance of architect in earthquake resistance of buildings, The importance of building geometry and carrier system order in earthquake resistance earthquake calculation methods (static and dynamic calculation methods), bearing systems exposed to torsion, examination of earthquake damage in reinforced concrete and masonry buildings.

CE-512 Dam Planning and Design (3-0)3
